Hey all,

I'm a baseball fan hoping to see my first game outside of my home stadium while in LA for the con. Anyone interested in hitting the Dodgers-Padres game on the 22nd or 23rd?

Thanks!

I might be down. You'll find I am very anti-Dodger, though... the one Dodger game I went to, I had popcorn thrown at me. Hopefully you're a Rockies fan. :P

Also, I believe you can get from the hotel to the stadium pretty easily, taking the bus/subway to Union Station and then picking up the express shuttle that goes straight to the stadium.

Sweet! I'm a die-hard Rockies fan, which has gotten me laughed at more times than I care to count, but oh well. :)

I'm hoping to get there on Wednesday, so we can check out tickets when I figure out which day I can arrive. Thanks for the bus/shuttle tip, too.

Cool. If it's Wednesday I can probably do it, if it's Thursday I'm most likely going to be running around setting up... things (I'm not sure what Bernie's going to make me do). But if I can't go, I bet I know a few other people on cast who are interested! They just will most likely be Dodger fans (I'm actually a Giants fan, but I tend to root for anyone who isn't the Dodgers).

If I'm free that day, I'd be down to go.

Just...expect me to be the guy who yells "GOAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!" whenever they score.

Ha ha, no worries. I'll probably be rooting for whomever is lower in the league standings to try to knock down the upper team. :P

Yep!

I also was really tempted to show up to the Lakers parade in a Mets t-shirt, just to be absurd.

So I will definitely be there Wednesday for the elsewhere-mentioned Disneyland trip, so I'll be hitting the Wednesday night game. Any seating preferences or tips? I don't want to go more than $30 a seat. The "All You Can Eat" section intrigues me.

If you're going to D-Land on Wednesday and want to be there as long as possible, I would recommend catching an Angels game instead. Just because if it's a 7:10 game, you'll wanna get there at least by 6:30, which could mean leaving Disney by 4 due to rush-hour crappy traffic from Anaheim to Downtown LA.

The Anaheim stadium, though, is maybe 15 minutes from Disneyland, and they have a home game against the Rangers that night.

Frankly, Anaheim is a nicer stadium anyway. I love the history of Dodger Stadium, it's one of the last classic ballparks left, but the experience at The Big A is pretty awesome, and cuts way less into your DLand time.

Good to know - thanks! It's become a goal of mine to see all the Major League parks in the country, so I know I want to hit both eventually.

As far as timing, I'm perfectly fine going into a stadium at game time. I'm willing to work the timing/location out with whoever else is coming. My preference in the NL game, but I'm totally willing to do either.

So after thinking about it some more, I've opted to scrap going to a baseball game. I'm usually pretty bad about trying to cram too much into my vacation days, which is pretty indicative of my life in general. :) Disneyland calls!
